What

I practice a Feminist, Client-Centered theoretical orientation. This means that counseling is centered around the client’s experience and the client is the most knowledgeable about themselves; therefore, their healing.

I am merely walking alongside the client, without the power dynamic of me being the master of counseling giving you the answers. I will be there to point out different tools that may be helpful along the way that one may not have thought about. Giving someone different tools that build on your strengths and things that they are already doing is different than me dictating therapy, as I am following the client’s lead in their lives as we walk and explore the unknown together.

Why

The reason I practice through a Feminist and Client-Centered lens is the same reason I created Dismantle Counseling: the psychological community has theories that have been studied and supported, but they are missing an important piece, your experience.

You are the expert.

You know what you have packed in your closet.

I am merely here to help you go through all of those things and get rid of what you don’t need and repack what you would like to keep. I want you to be able to use the closet, not just throw everything back in when it bursts open randomly.

How

Counseling can look like a lot of things. It can be in person, online, over the phone, or a combination of any of those.

It may take place on a basketball court.

It could occur at your favorite coffee shop.

Maybe you really enjoy talking while playing Halo.

Therapy is not just you coming and laying down on a bed or sitting in a chair while we look into each others’ eyes. Although it can be, if that is what you need!

Being located in Arizona, in person is only possible, if you are within driving distance. Otherwise, we will set up a session on a video call or over the phone.
