About
About Me
My name is Spencer Meyer and I am a practicing therapist in Washington State, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and in Arizona, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
I have been practicing for the last ten years, when I started in San Diego, California before moving up to the Pacific Northwest. During the onset of COVID, I moved down to Arizona to help with my family. I also have my school counseling credential and have worked in school districts around Arizona. I am passionate about integrating mental health into schools and making counseling accessible to youth and families by minimizing unnecessary barriers.
I specialize in working with adolescents, particularly those who have experienced trauma and/or have Serious Mental Illnesses, such as depression, psychosis, or bipolar disorder. Most of my career has been working with clients aged 10 to 25 in a community mental health setting.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling the world to learn about how other cultures address mental health, as well as coaching and playing volleyball, and spending time with my family.
Cost and getting started
Currently, Dismantle Counseling is out-of-pocket pay. I do work on a sliding scale. The standard rate is $75 an hour. If you are unable to afford this, let me know at intake and we can discuss financial options and what you can afford.
I am working on getting boarded with a few insurance companies, as I am aware some people do not have money that they aren’t already paying their insurance companies, even with a sliding scale set-up.
The next step is filling out an interest form.
